Lemken and Krone partner on multi-functional robotic system development

Glacier FarmMedia – As more attention is turned toward autonomous field operations, even companies that haven’t been known for offering powered systems are revealing their efforts to produce self-propelled robotic equipment.  Tillage equipment producer Lemken recently announced it had partnered with forage-focused Krone (both companies are based in Germany) to create an autonomous power unit […] Read more

Lemken designed a cultivator for the Combined Powers system that can detect tillage depth and tell whether the cultivator is plugging with trash. It also confirms that the system is crumbling soil appropriately and managing field slope and moisture conditions. Krone’s mowers and forage harvesting equipment are also designed to optimize performance in the field.

Combining forces and experience, Krone and Lemken are autonomous

For the European shortliners, working together harnesses global skills to put Combined Powers to work in farmers’ fields

Glacier FarmMedia – Krone and Lemken teamed up to build a robotic tractor and implements designed to help the companies keep pace with the autonomous revolution expected to sweep the agricultural sector. Combined Powers is the name of the joint project. Yves Desjardins of Lemken said there are multiple reasons it made sense for the […] Read more

This is a typical European planting setup, says Lemken’s Mark VanDeursen. The tractor carries a 20-foot-wide hydraulic downforce packer at the front, a 20-foot wide, three-point hitch drill at the back, pulling a cart with seed and fertilizer. In some situations, the rig can do this operation directly into a plowed field. The updated version of VarioPack has heavier packing wheels.

Lemken puts new tools into the ground for 2022

The implements reflect European criteria for manure injection designed to protect the environment

Lemken has two new soil management tools expected to be available this year: a new liquid manure injection tool and a furrow press mounted to the tractor’s front. Lemken’s Heliodor compact disc harrow will be compatible with a precision liquid manure spreader built by Vogelsang DosiMat DMX. A Lemken press release says the resulting combination […] Read more
