Kelly named new OMAFRA deputy minister

John Kelly is the new deputy minister of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs for Ontario.

Kelly is known for numerous roles he’s held in Ontario and Canadian agriculture over the past 25 years.

He’s been involved in organizations such as the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, MaRS Landing and Bioenterprise. He also has had roles with agriculture companies.

He has a PhD and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph and a Masters degree from the University of Alberta.

He replaces Greg Meredith, who came to OMAFRA from the federal government, but has moved to be deputy minister at the Ministry of Labour, Training, Skills and Development.
