Bob Guy given poultry worker award

The Poultry Industry Council (PIC) has posthumously recognized Bob Guy with its Ed McKinlay Poultry Worker of the Year award.

Ed Verkley chair of PIC presented the award to Guy’s wife Cindy, at the recent Ontario Broiler Hatching Egg Chick Commission’s annual meeting.

Guy was an employee of the broiler hatching egg commission for 17 years, including many years as general manager and was instrumental in creating a vibrant organization and fostered collaboration with members, stakeholders and industry colleagues.

The PIC Poultry Worker of the Year award is presented to an individual who has given outstanding service to the poultry industry.

Guy was instrumental in the creation of a number of industry programs including the Poultry Insurance Exchange, the Feather Board Command Centre and served on the Poultry Industry Council board for more than 10 years.
