Jana Tian, CEO and cofounder of a Waterloo-based technology startup company called Upside Robotics, talks about “Beethoven”, the company’s fully autonomous robot at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show last month. It works on the “swarm” concept and is designed to apply fertilizer in corn rows during the growing season, allowing growers to reduce input costs by applying just the right amount of product at the right time to meet plant needs and field conditions.
