Crop Plots at Canada's Outdoor Farm Show

Crops can be compared side by side at Ontario’s biggest farm show this September.

The current heavyweights and future stars of corn, soybean, wheat, forage and cover crop hybrids and varieties will be on display at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show in Woodstock. Visitors can take in the company plots at their usual place on the show site along the north and west sides of the main site.

Regular rain at the show site has ensured the plots look great, says Melonee Ochitwa, an organizer with the show.

Senft to step down as CEO of Seeds Canada

Barry Senft, the founding CEO of the five-year-old Seeds Canada organization is stepping down as of January 2026.

“One thing about the show is that we are really lucky to be an outdoor venue, not indoor. Farmers can touch it or feel it, examine those corn or beans. That’s the biggest draw.”

The Discovery Farm Woodstock site, home to the show, also hosts demonstration research from numerous companies that will be on display with the Off the Beaten Path tours that happen each day of the show.

Many organizations have plots to showcase products and management practices. They include:
