VIDEO: Autonomous machine treats powdery mildew using UVC light

To control powdery mildew in orchards, growers currently need to apply a fungicide to help keep plants healthy and avoid further complications down the road. But what if your crop could be treated in a non-chemical way and the work could be done while you were sleeping? That’s essentially the pitch that Free Green Nature offers with the Icaro X4, an autonomous machine that uses UVC (ultraviolet) light to treat powdery mildew on some fruit and vegetable crops. In this video from the EIMA international agricultural machinery exhibition, Simone Scarabel with Free Green Nature talks about how the machine works.
