Most Chicago cattle futures rose on Wednesday after Tuesday’s hard fall. Hogs settled on either side of unchanged.
Most-active October live cattle futures closed at 231.150 cents per pound, up 0.975 cents. December contracts settled at 232.675 cents a pound, up 1.500 cents.
Nearby feeder cattle futures rose, while deferred contracts lost steam. Most-traded October contracts closed at 350.400 cents a pound, up 0.475 cents. November feeders settled at 348.275 cents per pound, down 0.600 cents.

Most-active October lean hog contracts closed at 96.825 cents a pound, up 0.700 cents. December futures settled at 88.275 cents a pound, up 0.425 cents. More deferred futures were unchanged to slightly down.
The USDA reported carcass cutout value at $114.77 per cwt, up $0.66.
