New website offers simpler way to access crop performance trial data

There is now a one-stop option for growers looking for performance trial data on various crops: GoCrops.ca.

The newly launch website brings together four legacy websites, www.gocorn.net, www.gocereals.ca, www.gobeans.ca, and www.gosoy.ca under one cohesive banner.

The new website was launched by the Ontario Corn Committee (OCC), the Ontario Cereal Crops Committee (OCCC), the Ontario Pulse Crop Committee (OPCC), and the Ontario Soybean and Canola Committee (OSACC) to provide growers with a simpler way to access performance trial data.

Senft to step down as CEO of Seeds Canada

Barry Senft, the founding CEO of the five-year-old Seeds Canada organization is stepping down as of January 2026.

Although active for many years, each of the crop committee websites had its own unique navigation and structures that made the user experience different for each site, the committees said in the release.

The committees agreed that a “more cohesive structure would make it easier for the agricultural community to find information and to intuitively use a single site for access to all the information across crops.”

What growers can find on the new website:

  • Third-party variety and hybrid performance and agronomic data for major Ontario field crops
  • Head-to-head comparison by year and growing area
  • Variety information
  • Disease testing results
  • Historical variety and hybrid performance and agronomic data
  • General crop committee information

“With this new website, we are excited to streamline the process for our growers across Ontario to get information regarding variety performance trials across all major crops in one place,” Joanna Follings, chair of the Ontario Cereal Crops Committee, said in a release.

“Providing timely, accurate information in a modern digital format is vitally important for reaching farmers. This new site will help all committees meet this need and we hope to see this become the go-to site for farmers looking for trial information.”

GoCrops.ca was funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Grain Farmers of Ontario, and the Ontario Pulse Crop Committee.
