Mycosphaerella blight is a widespread disease among Manitoba pea fields. So, how can pea growers in the province get two steps ahead of this economically injurious disease? For starters, it’s important to know what you’re up against before loading your tank with a fungicide and spraying your crop. Why? Another common blight in peas looks similar to Mycosphaerella and a fungicide will have no effect, as Dennis Lange, pulse and soybean specialist with Manitoba Agriculture, explains.
