Jenny Butcher and Wes Kuntz, Little Brown Cow Dairy, of Brantford, Ont. were named the national winners of Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmer (OYF) program along with Raymond and Tracey Bredenhof, R&T Poultry and Bredenhof Hops, of Abbotsford, B.C. at the OYF national event held virtually and in Saskatoon Dec. 1-3, 2021.

Butcher and Kuntz started the Little Brown Cow Dairy in 2008 when they began renting quota, a barn, yard site and purchased 20 cows. They purchased property in 2011 and began processing 100 per cent of their milk.  In 2017 they purchased commercial space and opened the “Local Food Emporium” with an emphasis on local product.

They believe in representing agriculture in a transparent and positive way, and wanted to develop a product that they could attach a story to and now use social media to tell their story.
