USDA predicts 2.5 million-tonne increase on year

Global barley production in 2025/26 is forecast to increase by 2.5 million tonnes in 2025/26, with larger crops in the European Union and Russia more than countering smaller crops elsewhere, according to the latest estimates from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Chicago Board of Trade soybean and corn futures drifted lower on Wednesday as initial optimism faded over the U.S. and China agreeing on the framework of a trade truce, and market players shifted their focus back to benign crop weather, analysts said.
