At the baling demonstrations at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show earlier this month, Marcrest Manufacturing ran a tandem system for turning square bales into larger bundles. Marcrest’s new, high-capacity 210 baler picks up the hay from the windrow, bales it into a small square bale and feeds it down a conveyor to the Bale Baron 5250T that assembles it into a larger bundle of 24 bales. Here, Keith Horst, engineering manager with Marcrest, talks about the design and operation of the two pieces of equipment.
