Following an early spring such as this year’s, soybean growers in Manitoba may wonder whether there’s anything to be gained in planting their crops earlier, rather than waiting for the soil to get closer to optimum temperature.

Dennis Lange of Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives considered that topic among others at the Crop Diagnostic School, in this fifth of a series of nine videos hosted for the Manitoba Co-operator by Crops Guide editor Gord Gilmour.

MAFRI and the University of Manitoba host the Crop Diagnostic School each year at the U of M’s Ian M. Morrison Research Farm at Carman. Farmers and agronomists can attend the one-day hands-on school, which runs for two weeks in July. Watch this site for more video highlights. Time: 0:47
