Regina short-line farm equipment firm Rite Way Manufacturing and its sister company, combine manufacturer Python Manufacturing, have hired a new CEO.
Don Exner, who worked for the company about 10 years ago and later worked in Saskatchewan and Alberta for equipment firm Advance Engineered Products, returns to Rite Way effective June 1.
Exner’s focus as CEO will be on strategies to develop “quality industrial and farm equipment” and to further grow the businesses, the company said.
Rite Way makes equipment such as land rollers, rock pickers, heavy harrows, midrange harrows and rotary harrows.

Python Manufacturing, meanwhile, makes the Python combine harvester, which the company touts as using “highly efficient” hydraulic motors in place of most of the belts and pulleys on similar combines.
Python has also imported the Russian-made Vector and Acros combines, developed by Combine Factory Rostselmash, known in Canada as the owner of Winnipeg’s Buhler Industries, maker of Versatile tractors and various short-line equipment.
Python also manufactures street sweepers and pothole patchers.
Les Hulicsko, owner of Rite Way and Python, said in a release Tuesday that Exner “always demonstrated strong leadership abilities and has an excellent understanding of the manufacturing industry.”
