A second logo will be attached to Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show in 2010 as the Ontario ag exposition has named its first “presenting sponsor.”

The show’s full name for both 2010 and 2011 will be “Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show Presented by Farm Credit Canada,” show organizers announced last week.

The show, billed as Canada’s premier outdoor agricultural showcase, is “a great way for us to talk with our current customers and to meet new ones involved in all aspects of agriculture,” Barry Smith, FCC’s vice-president of operations for western Ontario, said in the show’s release.

Mexico recorded 6,703 cases of animals infested with New World screwworm as of September 13 since the start of the outbreak in November of last year. That was compared to 5,086 confirmed cases during the previous period, which ended August 17.

“With more than 40,000 people attending the show every year, this is a tremendous opportunity to build relationships, establish partnerships and share what FCC is about and what we do.”

Financial terms of the presenting sponsorship were not disclosed.

FCC, the federal government’s farm and agribusiness lending arm, served in 2009 as the show’s official Ag Business sponsor and as gold sponsor of “Auction Thursday.”

The show posted a “record-breaking” 2009 with 43,800 producers and agribusiness representatives attending the event over three days in September, with 700 exhibitors and a number of product demonstrations.

The 2010 event will be held Sept. 14 to 16 at Canada’s Outdoor Park on the northwest side of Woodstock, Ont.
