CWB sets ’06-07 final payments

The Canadian Wheat Board on Friday announced its final payments for wheat, durum, feed and designated barley for the 2006-07 crop year, ranging from $7.04 per tonne for No. 2 CWRW winter wheat to $26.64 per tonne for all grades of pool B barley.

The federal government approved the final payments Thursday. Direct deposits that combine this final payment and the 2006-07 interim payments announced Nov. 16 will be credited to farmers’ accounts Tuesday (Dec. 18), the CWB said. Cheques covering both payments were to be mailed Friday and dated Dec. 18.

Final payments for wheat range from $7.04 per tonne for No. 2 Canada Western Red Winter wheat to $10.45 per tonne for No. 1 and No. 2 Canada Western Soft White Spring Select and No. 2 CWSWS.

Final payments for durum range from $7.31 per tonne for No. 4 Canada Western Amber Durum to $10.09 per tonne for No. 1 CWAD 15.5.

Designated barley final payments range from $6.23 per tonne for Sample Select Canada Western six-row (acct. fusarium) to $12.01 per tonne for Sample Select Canada Western two-row (acct. fusarium).
