Chicago corn was down sharply on Thursday as market players digested numbers from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Outlook Forum as well as expectations of new U.S. tariffs on imports from Mexico and China, analysts said.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday raised hopes for another month-long pause on steep new tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada, saying they could take effect on April 2, and floated a 25 per cent “reciprocal” tariff on European cars and other goods.
