Tori Waugh has been appointed executive director of the Ontario Soil Network.

Waugh, principal consultant at Conservation Ag Consulting, has helped grow the Ontario Soil Network to its current role in the sector.

She was selected after a competitive process.

The Ontario Soil Network has created a new strategic plan and it will be Waugh’s job to implement the work plan that came out of the strategic planning process.

“Tori Waugh’s vision, diligence, and leadership will support the Ontario Soil Network’s success,” says Ontario Soil Network Chair, Woody Van Arkel. “She has grown the Ontario Soil Network from the innovative project founded by Mel Luymes, into an organization with a strong base of support to continue building partnerships for improving soil health in Ontario.”

The Ontario Soil Network also announced it has added Dr. Erin Nelson to its board of directors. Nelson is an assistant professor in the department of sociology and anthropology at the University of Guelph.
