The Ontario Sheep Farmers’ 2025 Ontario GenOvis awards honoured producers for excellent selection practices during the organization’s Oct. 30 general meeting in Cambridge.
Laura Mosley from Rising Oak Dorsets won the maternal breed category.
Maple Meadows Farms’ Dwayne Bazinet and Colleen Acres took top honours in the prolific breed category.

Wayne Kreklewich received the top hybridizer Award, while Earl and Naomi Brubacher captured the top spot in the commercial category.
Lauren Cowan, a University of Guelph Bachelor of Science in Agriculture student, was awarded $500 as part of the 2025 undergraduate award for 4-H members or young producers. The award is based on industry and community involvement and an essay.
Diana Lucarelli received the $500 Memorial Fund Industry Leader Award, which recognizes an Ontario sheep farmer demonstrating a passion for continuous learning, mentorship, and sheep genetics.
